Lockdown is the new buzz word world over. The new normal is that your country is either undergoing a lockdown, from a lockdown or is soon going into a lockdown. All this thanks to the Corona virus pandemic. Here are five hacks to push you through these long, seemingly endless days.
- Structure your days
Creating a routine helps to give your day structure and direction. Set a time to do all that you plan to do for example when to get up, have your meals, work- if you are working from home, study and work out. This will help you feel in control of your day rather than scattered.
- Set a goal or two to accomplish each day.
It is easy to feel like you have all the time in the world to do all that you plan to do. Write down all that you want to accomplish by the time the lockdown ends then set daily goals. It could be cleaning out your closet, de-cluttering your pantry, sorting your children’s clothes and putting some away, whatever it is set the goals then work slowly to accomplish them.
- Intentionally spend time with family.
Why not build memories while on this lockdown? Play board games together, work on that huge jigsaw puzzle that you put away for when you get time, do some DIY home projects that you always promised you would do but never really got the time.
- Enjoy your hobbies.
Watch the movies and series on your ‘To watch list’, read the books on your reading list, bake, prepare the elaborate meals you rarely prepare because- work or school or both.
- Pray and study the word.
Spend the huge chunks of time in your day praying, reading the Bible or journaling. It will help calm the anxiety and uncertainty that has gripped most of us as a result of the pandemic.
